LOGIT Partners Law and Accounting Office
Spot Consultation

Spot Consultation

We provide one-off consultations and advice from attorneys and CPAs. Available without a retainer agreement for easy access.

Coverage Areas (Examples)

Our spot consultation service covers a wide range of topics. It is also available as a second opinion even when you have existing advisors.

Legal Consultation

We take one-off legal questions — contract checks, first response to trouble — no retainer required, expert judgment exactly when needed.

Examples: Contract content check & risk review / Initial response to business disputes / Regulatory & licensing requirements check / Internal policy legal review

Accounting & Tax Consultation

We answer spot accounting and tax questions — including second opinions on positions taken by your existing advisors.

Examples: Accounting treatment judgment & check / Tax treatment verification / Year-end & filing spot questions / Second opinion on existing advisor's position

M&A, Investment & New Business

We serve as a sounding board at the concept stage — early M&A thinking, new-business risk — where consultation before committing prevents costly rework later.

Examples: Initial M&A scheme review / Fundraising legal & tax check / New business risk assessment / Due diligence issue mapping

Governance, DX & AI

We field questions on newer themes — AI risk, DX tooling, governance — starting with a map of what needs consideration and how far to take it.

Examples: AI & generative AI legal risk check / DX tool adoption legal review / Internal controls & compliance queries / AI governance status review & recommendations

We are available for single consultations on specific issues. Our time-based billing means you only pay for what you need.

Complex issues spanning legal, accounting, tax, and governance can be addressed in one session, since all of them are handled within the firm.

03

Effective as a Second Opinion

We provide independent second opinions on specialized topics—IT/AI, M&A, fintech—that existing advisors may struggle with, under strict confidentiality.

FAQ

Q. What is the cost of a spot consultation?

Fees vary based on the topic, time required, and which specialist is involved. Please first send us an overview of your question through our contact form. We will provide a cost estimate, and once you agree, we will schedule the consultation.

Q. Is online consultation (e.g., Zoom) available?

Yes — we offer online consultations via Zoom, Teams, and similar platforms, accessible from anywhere in Japan. In-person consultations at our office are also available if you prefer to meet face-to-face.

Q. Can I use this service as a second opinion?

Yes — many clients use our spot consultation to obtain a second opinion on specialized topics such as IT, AI, M&A, and fintech that their existing counsel or tax adviser is unable to adequately address. We provide an objective, independent view under strict confidentiality.

Q. Can I consult on issues that span multiple professional domains?

Yes — complex issues such as "this involves both legal and tax questions" or "accounting and governance problems are arising simultaneously" can be addressed in one session, since all of them are handled within the firm. This saves the time and cost of consulting each specialist separately.

Q. Do I need to prepare materials before the consultation?

It is not required, but having relevant contracts, financial documents, or a company overview will allow us to use the session more efficiently. If you send us a brief overview of your topic through our contact form in advance, we will ensure the right specialist is prepared to respond.

Q. Can I commission written documents such as opinion letters or contracts after the consultation?

Yes — following a spot consultation, you can engage us to prepare legal opinion letters, tax opinion letters, contracts, internal policies, or valuation reports. The process flows smoothly: we use the consultation to map the issues, then transition to document preparation.
